Spooky Devil Eggs

Spooky Devil Eggs Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon vinegar (white or apple cider)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Paprika (for garnish)
- Black olives (for decoration)
- Green food coloring (optional)
- Sriracha or hot sauce (optional, for a spicy kick)
Instructions
Boil the Eggs:
- Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from the heat, and let it sit for 12-15 minutes.
- After the time is up, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for about 5-10 minutes.
Prepare the Filling:
- Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
- Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside.
- Mash the yolks with a fork and add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth. Add a few drops of green food coloring and mix well for a spooky green color.
Fill the Egg Whites:
- Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites. You can use a piping or plastic bag with the corner snipped off for a more decorative look.
Garnish:
- Sprinkle a little paprika on top of the filled eggs for color.
- For a spooky touch, cut black olives in half and place them on top of the yolk filling to resemble “spider eyes.” You can also use small pieces of olive to create spider shapes.
Serve:
- Arrange the deviled eggs on a platter and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Tips
- For an extra kick, mix in some Sriracha or hot sauce into the yolk mixture.
- You can add other toppings like crumbled bacon or chopped chives for added flavor and decoration.
These Spooky Devil Eggs will surely be a hit at your Halloween gathering! Enjoy!
