  1. Combine the chocolate, butter, corn syrup, and rum (if using) in a bowl over hot (but not boiling) water.

  3. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate mixture, covering about 2/3 of it. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  4. Place each dipped strawberry on waxed paper to let the chocolate harden. Once cooled, refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
